Photography By K specializes in Portrait Photography – mainly captured outdoors in natural light, but I can do the studio thing if you prefer – and also Real Estate Photography. Yes…houses and commercial spaces and the like, right alongside people. All kinds of people, too. Newborn babies, children, families, plus specialty sessions for high school seniors and moms-to-be. Small events are included every now and again, also! Photography By K takes a non-traditional, lifestyle photography approach to portraits.
Location: 5693 Main St., Suite 2, Sylvania, Ohio
Hours: By Appointment
Kathy started Photography By K in 2008, but has had a passion for photography all her life. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Bowling Green State University (Go Falcons!), and until January 2012, held a full-time day job in the corporate training field. Giving up her old career to make room for a new one was a hard decision, but since that day, she’s embraced Photography By K 24/7 and has never looked back! Kathy is a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA), and eagerly works to continue her education in photography by attending seminars whenever possible. It doesn’t hurt if a seminar is in Las Vegas, either.
About The Photography By K Team:
Kathy works with her husband, Jason, who serves as a second photographer. Jason has a day job, too! He is a project manager consultant for Deltek, a project management and accounting software developer for the architecture and engineering market. Jason has a highfalutin’ Master’s Degree in Engineering Project Management from Eastern Michigan University.
Kathy’s part-time studio coordinator is Gabi, currently a high school student at Maumee Valley. Gabi handles all of the behind-the-scenes stuff, like the Photography By K administrative work. Gabi also tags along on photo sessions whenever possible, and wants to learn as much as she can about photography. One more thing…since Gabi was born with a [nameyourfavoritepieceoftechnology] in her hand, Gabi also helps Kathy fix what’s broken. A. LOT.
